Laporta did not fly to meet with al-Sadd leaders on Xavi’s transition

Barcelona President Joan Laporta did not fly to talks with Al-Sadd’s leadership to negotiate the transfer of the head coach of the Qatari team Xavi, according to Marca.

According to the source, the meeting, which was held in the format of a dinner, was attended by two functionaries of the Catalan club.

It is noted that Laporta’s decision had a negative impact on the negotiation process.

The final meeting of the clubs, at which the final decision on the future of Xavi, site will be held on November 4.

Xavi is a graduate of Barcelona. The Spaniard played for the main team of the Catalan club from 1997 to 2015. In 2015, he moved to Al-Sadd, where he spent four seasons and retired as head coach in 2019.
